New York 3-star
restaurants

Alphabetical.

Babbo

This restaurant is hot, hot, hot. Diners beg for reservations to eat Mario Batali's stimulating fare in a sea
of loud music.

Bouley

David Bouley's creative French fare has delighted New Yorkers for years. His
prix-fixed menus are your best bets.

Chanterelle

Chef David Waltuck's lovingly prepared French-inspired dishes are served in a
low-keyed, floral rich room with spacious tables.

Four Seasons

Two distinct dining venues: The Grill Room (for power lunches) and Pool Room
(for romantic dinners).

Gotham Bar & Grill

Danny Meyer's Village venue serves unpretentious, high-quality dishes in a
relaxed setting.

Gramercy Tavern

It's one of Danny Meyer's culinary and hospitality successes. The mood is
understated elegance.

Le Cirque

It earned 4 stars before it moved from its original digs (now occupied by
Daniel). The latest location (Bloomberg Building) is fine, but the food has
dropped a notch.

Le
Grenouille

A romantic ambiance with gorgeous floral arrangements. "Ladies who lunch"
clientele.

Lever House

At lunch, it has become a power restaurant. It's more laid back at night.

Masa

You come here to enjoy Masayoshi Takayama's kaiseki dinners. This restaurant is one
of New York's two most expensive dining venues.

Megu

The Japan-meets-Hollywood decor is as big of a draw as the modernized Japanese
food.

Nobu

His flagship restaurant in Tribeca is renowned for sushi and celebrities.

Peter Luger's

Brooklyn.
Porterhouse steak for two.

Sushi Yasuda

Many sushi worshipers believe that master Naomichi Yasuda offers the best sushi
quality and selection in town.

Union Square Cafe

This is the restaurant that launched Danny Meyer's quality restaurant group.
