Interesting Polynesia Facts

Top 7 reasons

to visit Polynesia

Here is why I believe everyone should visit this special part of our world.

Striking beauty - The Polynesian Islands are collectively the most beautiful tropical islands in the world.

People - The Polynesians are among the world's warmest and welcoming people. This is especially true when you travel beyond the high-tourism venues.

Culture - Polynesia's most famous cultural offering is music and dance. The islands are also noted for its paintings (think Gauguin), wood carving and basket weaving.

Unwinding - The island lifestyles are ideal environments for relaxing and recharging your batteries.

Honeymooning - Polynesia is a perfect honeymoon destination, whether you hole up in a sumptuous beach resort or sail on the romantic Paul Gauguin luxury cruise ship.

Over-the-water bungalows - Staying in one of these structures is a memorable experience. Your room or suite sits on stilts over a crystal-clear turquoise lagoon. Most bungalows are on the islands of Moorea, Tahiti and Bora Bora.

Easy to reach by air - Today you can fly to Polynesia from almost everywhere on the globe.

Note: French Polynesia's most famous island - Tahiti - does not win one of my medals. It's an honorable mention. However, it does have some desirable resorts where you can stay.
