When I was a kid, I had the good fortune to live a half year in this small,
picturesque colonial Mexican town with cobblestone streets and whitewashed
buildings.

Parque la Venta
It's an open-air museum featuring colossal, body-less stone heads. They were
carved 3,000 years ago by the Olmecs and are up to 2 meters or 6 feet high.

Taxco
For a long time, this small, charming colonial hill town has been synonymous
with silver mining and silver artisan goods.

Mitla
These ruins are especially known for friezes and walls decorated with 3D
geometric patterns. Also popular is the Column of Life (legend says it can predict the number of
years you have left).
